At Ambit Consulting, LLC we’ve worked intimately with some of the nation’s leading institutions to provide innovative, value-driven solutions that deliver significant cost advantages and/or dramatic impact to the bottom-line. While being involved in our clients most pressing technical challenges, we bring expertise capabilities and a level insight that enables success in the face of  the myriad of difficulties that our clients encounter with various technologies.

Below is a sampling of Ambit's client work:

Spalding Regional Medical Center - Network and Server Maintenance
Griffin, GA

Spalding Regional Medical Center, a Tenet Circle of Excellence  award-winning hospital located in Griffin, Georgia, is a 160-bed acute care facility. They provide a variety of hospital services -  including but not limited to orthopedics, cardiology, oncology, and urology to six adjoining counties that comprise the central Georgia area.  In 2010, Spalding Regional admitted over 8,900 patients, served over 45,000 patients in its emergency room, and its’ physicians performed over 4,600 surgeries.

Given the myriad of physician specialties within Spalding’s practitioner network that rely upon imaging technology to diagnose and treat their patients, a secure and fully integrated picture archiving and communication system (PACS) was critical to that objective.

Spalding Regional relied upon Ambit to:

1. Enable a secure connection between the individual islands of digital imaging that are localized within the various departments and the hospital’s central PACS. We also enabled secure connections between the main hospital’s PACS  and its remote locations.

2. Upgrade Spalding’s radiologist workstations from the outdated hardware to more high-end stations that would improve the radiologist workflow and provide a more consistent and reliable dataset.

3. Provide technical support for the PACS in instances of system failure and instability.

4. Troubleshoot VPN issues that prevented PACS users from utilizing the internet as their means of communication.

The cumulative impact of Ambit’s solutions was uninterrupted imaging communication across each department as well as reduced costs.

St. Joseph’s Hospital
Atlanta, GA

Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1880 as Atlanta’s first hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital is a 410-bed acute care facility that has been recognized as one of the leading hospitals in the United States by numerous industry publications.  Each year, St. Joseph’s provides $37 million in charitable and and uncompensated care for the poor and elderly.  Highly regarded for its specialized expertise and innovation in health-care delivery, St. Joseph’s received the J.D. Power and Associates prestigious Distinguished Hospital Program for Service Excellence Award and recently received the Top 50 Hospitals USA designation.

St. Joseph’s enlisted Ambit to design and install a secure, reliable network that would facilitate the implementation of a high-performance workstation for the radiologist. Before determining where to place the network components and how to connect them, Ambit incorporated end user feedback into its planning methodology to ensure that the newly implemented network would ultimately be simpler to use.  Their feedback allowed Ambit to more accurately determine the size of the components needed and the most optimal means by which to meet network capacity requirements.

After completing the process of planning and design, Ambit procured the hardware and installed the newly-architected network.  The new network facilitated the implementation of a secure, high-performance reading workstation for the radiology department.

The newly-installed network enabled the radiology department to transmit images over a significantly more reliable and secure network - one that is less prone to network failure and more optimally engineered for high network traffic.
